Make a Powerful Decision

U.S. Rep/Agent membership is available to any firm, or corporation engaged in business as an independent manufacturers' representative, selling foodservice equipment, supplies, tabletop, furniture and/or janitorial and sanitation supplies and equipment to the foodservice industry, and jan/san industry or other non-food institutions that require commercial cleaning shall be eligible for Agent membership in this association, upon establishing, subject to the discretion of the Board of Directors, that such person, firm or corporation is:

1. an independent contractor; and
   
   
2. whose primary business is selling foodservice equipment, supplies, tabletop, furniture, and/or janitorial and sanitation supplies and equipment to the foodservice industry and/or the jan/san industry or other non-food institutions that require commercial cleaning; and
   
   
3. is selling the products of two (2) or more manufacturers in a designated geographic area; and
   
   
4. whose majority of gross sales volume is derived from commission-based representative contracts.

Canadian/International Rep/Agent membership is available to any firm, or corporation engaged in business as an independent manufacturers’ representative, selling foodservice equipment, supplies, tabletop, furniture, and/or janitorial and sanitation supplies and/or equipment to the foodservice industry and/or janitorial and sanitation industry; or who may act as a manufacturers’ representative with inventory who provides assistance in selling in their Canadian or International designated geographical area by importing merchandise in a manner that provides more cost-effective products for the customer which may involve freight, brokerage, dollar exchange, and timely delivery; and shall be eligible for Canadian or International Agent membership in this association, upon establishing, subject to the discretion of the Board of Directors, that such person, firm or corporation:

1. is an independent contractor; and
   
   
2. whose primary business is selling foodservice equipment, supplies, tabletop, furniture, and/or janitorial and sanitation supplies and equipment to the foodservice industry and/or the jan/san industry or other non-food institutions that require commercial cleaning; and
   
   
3. is selling the products of two or more manufacturers in a designated geographic area;
   
   
4. has no ownership or part ownership in any of their represented factories; and
   
   
5. uses the factories’ literature to go to market and does no value-added re-manufacturing or assembly to products sold in their designated geographic area.

2. Being listed in the MAFSI locator in multiple regions means it will be that much easier for manufacturers to find you.
   
   
3. Look for new partners in both of your regions so you can narrow down your needs by region to fill your line card quicker and easier.

To apply for membership in an additional region, you must have at least 2 lines in that region.

Here is how it works:

1. Count your employees in the new region, not including principals. If you don’t have an employee located in other regions, simply select 1 as your total personnel.
   
   
2. All Principals will be listed and have access to all your Rep Firm profiles at no additional charge.
   
   If you don't have any employees located in this region, your total personnel will be 1. 
   
   
3. Contact MAFSI to Apply for membership at info@mafsi.org. Let us know the additional region you would like to add and the number of employees that should be included in the new region.
